Variables

Aurorae are automatically generated by trueSKY providing that some conditions are met. You need to be within the Auroral Oval with the generated aurorae within the view distance.

Aurorae can be customised, from global position to strength and auroral colours.

Auroral Oval Settings:

Variable

Definition

Value

Geomagnetic North Pole Latitude

The latitude of the geomagnetic north pole, about which aurorae are generated.

-90.0 to 90.0

Geomagnetic North Pole Longitude

The longitude of the geomagnetic north pole, about which aurorae are generated.

-180.0 to 180.0

Highest Latitude

The highest latitude aurorae can occur, in degrees decimal centred about the geomagnetic north pole.

0.0 to 90.0

Lowest Latitude

The lowest latitude aurorae can occur, in degrees decimal centred about the geomagnetic north pole.

0.0 to 90.0

Max Band

The thickness of the thickest part of the auroral oval, in degrees decimal (Not currently in use).

0.0 to 180.0

Min Band

The thickness of the thinnest part of the auroral oval, in degrees decimal (Not currently in use).

0.0 to 180.0

Show Auroral Oval in Cloud Window

Whether trueSKY should draw the Auroral Oval on the Cloud Window view.
